INTERNATIONAL CAPS: 2004,2005,2006:England 2007-Great Britain |
At the age of 9, I watched my brother compete in a local athletics event. I remember thinking running looked like so much fun but being so upset when I was told I had to be ten to join in!
Nine years later and I have gained four England call ups and one Great Britain call up. I won the world Mountain up hill running trial Championship, was first reserve for the Great Britain athletics team for the european junior cross country championships, and last year was ranked third in the country over 5000m.
I put my success down to my burning desire to reach my potential and my pure love of the sport. Im far from the average student, infact most of my friends think im mad!- but i accept that it takes a certain type of person to want to dedicate their life to something which for all the pain produces only a few moments of glory. Unfortunately with the commitment I put in it means I dont have time to work, and so since being a student its getting harder and harder to support myself. I am not currently sponsered, but if anyone would be interested in helping me to fulfil my ambtions, any help would be so thoroughly appreciated.
Whilst at home I am treated by Roy at the clinic who is absolutely great. Ive experienced a large number of sports therapists through the years so I know a good one from a bad, and I can safely say Roy is quite exceptional....just a shame he isnt based in birmingham!! Thanks sarah
